The Reliable driver from the point of view of traffic safety is the driver really comparing the possibilities and possibilities of the operated car in interrelation with the developing situation, caused by actions of other participants of movement, road and weather conditions.
On the basis of the statistical data, the probability of fulfilment of road accident, substantially depends on age and the experience of the driver. The greatest indicator of danger is characteristic for drivers at the age from 18 till 25 years. It is possible to explain it small experience of driving and revaluation of the professional possibilities. The appreciable increase in an indicator of danger to road accident is observed at drivers is more senior 50 years which majority has the considerable experience of driving, but differs deterioration of some functions, important from the point of view of safe driving: visual acuities, especially in twilight; at blinding by headlights of counter transport. Average visual acuity at the age of 20 years is accepted for 100%, by 40 years it decreases to 90%, to 60 - to 74%, to 80 - to 47%.

When behind in a passing direction for you the car moves, try to support constant speed and more often to look in a rear-view mirror. Especially watch the overtaking vehicles signalling about change of a strip for preparation for overtaking. Do not forget to give to the car following behind a signal about the intention to change a lane, to lower speed or to stop. Remember that premature giving of a signal can mislead the driver, moving behind, giving of a signal with delay leaves to it not enough time for reaction to your maneuver.
Avoid to look in a mirror if you are followed by the car with the included headlight. In that case it is necessary to reduce speed and to allow it to overtake you.
In the presence of vehicles on adjacent lanes try to notice signs of their possible maneuvering earlier.
There are many factors which can compel a vehicle, moving in a counter direction, cross an axial line and leave on a strip of your movement: a low visibility, a course deviation of movement in order to avoid arrival on the pedestrian or the bicyclist, malfunctions of road or an obstacle on proezzhej its parts, incorrect definition of speed and position of the car on proezzhej parts, malfunctions of a steering, zasypanie at the wheel, alcoholic intoxication etc.
In the presence of counter vehicles try to move precisely on the lane, providing the greatest possible lateral interval to other vehicles. Watch road conditions and the drivers which behaviour forces to assume that their vehicle can cross an axial line or compel to it others (for example, presence on road uncertainly or slowly moving cars). Be ready to react quickly to flaws, roughnesses of road and the counter vehicles crossing an axial line, especially on liftings and turns where the counter driver can try to make unsafe overtaking.
In places where the meeting with pedestrians, bicyclists or animals is possible, lower speed, adhere more close to a left-hand side of a lane and be in case of need ready to fast braking. Watch the traffic signs warning about occurrence of possible danger.
